Dr. Barari's Bio






Dr. Barari is an assistant professor at the department of Mechanical, Automotive and Manufacturing Engineering, University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT), and an adjunct Professor at the department of Mechanical Engineering, university of Western Ontario.


Since mid 90’s Dr. Barari has been primarily involved in research and teaching on Precision Engineering, Metrology, Design Optimization, and Advanced Manufacturing including Digital Manufacturing and Additive Manufacturing system.

Dr. Barari contributed in several national and international research projects in industries, research centers, and universities. His research contributions are published by more than 100 journal and conference proceeding articles.


Current research Directions and Open Positions:

We invite outstanding, hard-working, and motivated applicants to join our research team for Master’s, PhD, and Post-Doctoral programs. Positions are open to research in the areas of:

  • Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing. Precision Additive Manufacturing, Design for Additive Manufacturing.

  • Precision Manufacturing, Measurement Uncertainty. 3D Coordinate Metrology, CAM-Based Inspection, CMM inspection of freeform Surfaces.

  • Advanced Manufacturing Technologies, Digital Manufacturing.

  • Geometric Design optimization, Topology optimization, FEA-Based design optimization.
